Our September Sweater of the Month, Bloom with a View, takes the familiar rhythm of traditional Fair Isle knitting and gives it a relaxed, whimsical L’Atelier twist.
Worked on US Size 7 needles, colorful flowers are scattered across a background of L’Atelier Wish 12, creating a design that feels playful rather than precise. The floral motifs are worked in three colors of Sesia Wow, a delicate sequined yarn that gives every bloom a subtle flash of sparkle as it catches the light.
The entire sweater is worked in Stockinette Stitch, Fair Isle style, with Wish carried throughout the colorwork. An easy-to-follow graph guides the design, but how closely you follow it is entirely up to you. Work every flower, leave a few out, or make the placement your own. The relaxed nature of the pattern is part of its charm.
