Knitting must be enjoyable, and our summer sweater is just that. Karen used three incredible cottons, Windsurf, Flora Paillettes, and Batik from Sesia, and then married them with Trendsetters Jai, also 100 % cotton. A simple Horseshoe Lace pattern, with an 8-row pattern repeat, creates the design and allows the stripes to wave so that the feeling is more of a soft breeze of color. The result is also sheer with a glimmer of sparkle from the Flora Paillettes and the Batik which is shot through with a glimmer of metallic. The body is knit on size 9 needles all in one piece to the armholes. The trim is a full Linen Stitch using all but the Flora to give it substance. Don’t forget to ask for buttons.
